Take A Break Walker ©

I think I will take a break from cooking.

Ok Walker, it’s time you wrote a post.
It doesn’t have to be a post of epic proportions, something small.
Short
Maybe a poem?
No, I do that on the other blog.

I could rant about something, like that idiot comedian on TV I saw last night who got naked on stage and shoved a roman candle up is ass then lit it so people would think he was funny.
He was hopping around stage with sparks shooting out of his butt and he had his hands cupped over his crotch so no one would see his weenie.
I go news for him, no one would be looking at his dick because they would be to busy waiting for his ass to go BOOM!!!!!

I don’t even think that was much of a unique act, have a bowl if my firehouse chilli and you’ll be shooting fireworks out your ass in no time to.
Now if he would have lit it then shoved the lit end up his ass and shot flames though his dick, THAT, would have been impressive and if they shot those little fireball then no one could ever accuse him of shooting blanks again.

The other day I needed some stuff at the grocery store so I borrowed the car and went to the mall where I could get what I want and check on some of the other stores for a couple of other items, plus I needed to get out of the house.
I have been locked inside for a week and I was getting a little stir crazy.

While at the mall I spotted this woman walking towards me.
She was a black woman, about 40, smartly dressed in a top and skirt, great legs, big tits and she was wearing what looked like 6-inch stilettos, but the feature that stood out the most was her ass.

The woman had a butt on her that was in no fucken way proportional to the rest of her body.
It was about 3 feet wide and I bet every time she gets out of a car you could here a popping sound.
If Helen of Troy’s beauty launched a 1000 ship, this woman’s butt could have sank them all just walking by.
She had a wiggle that went this way and that while her legs wobbled that way and this.
People were diving to catch her half the time because she looked like she was falling only to wobble back up again.

You know when you were a kid, they had that inflatable clown you punch and it stands up again because the bottom was way wider than the top.

Well that’s what she looked like.

With the spikes on her feet lifting her super wide ass higher than normal, her butt could have been viewed as the Earth’s second moon.

She had this confident look on her face as she walked down the hall with quick short strides; she had to use quick steps because her skirt was so tight her legs were practically glued together.

When she passed me I got a good look at her and stared into her eyes and I have to say that she was brimming with confidence and determination to make it all work because that’s the way she liked dressing.

All I could say to her is “Thumbs up to you” on being who you want to be and dressing as you like but get some stabilizers for your rear bumper.

I have managed to fill both my freezers and am now eyes the third one and trying to see if it would be smart for me to start it up and use that as well.
The lasagne is done along with the chilli, meat sauce and tomato sauce.
Last night I finished cabbage rolls and my family also finished one pan, serves me right for telling them I was making cabbage rolls.

Some of you were surprised that I was cooking and even that men cook.
I am surprised that many of you said that.
Most of my friends cook and are good at it.
Archie cooks feasts most weekends and the bbq at his place is going winter and summer.
Mike cooks at home and I know Rick cooks because he is working at a 5 star restaurant.
Most of the guys I know cook at home, Kevin cooks when he gets home and his wife does the other housework.
I think just as many men cook here, as do women.
My father does the cooking at my parents place, my mother does the baking but my father makes the bread.

So for me to be cooking is natural and a bit of a passion.
I think if you love to eat you should love to cook and I love to cook, just look at the cupboard and you will find no less than 20 restaurant quality pots and pans.

Some asked me the other day how hard it was to make cabbage rolls and I told her it was just as easy as making meat loaf.
If you got 30 minutes to spend then you got cabbage rolls.
Here look for yourselves at the recipe I have been using for years.

Recipe for cabbage rolls serves 6.

INGREDIENTS:

12 cabbage leaves

Filling:

1 pound ground beef
3/4 cup cooked rice
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
½ cup finely chopped parsley
1 egg
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup milk

Sauce:

1 cans (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 1/4 cup cold water
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
PREPARATION:
Drop cabbage leaves into boiling salted water; cover and cook for 3 minutes. Drain well.

For filling, combine ground beef, rice, onion, egg, and salt, pepper, and milk.
Mix well and divide into 12 portions.
Place a portion into the center of each cabbage leaf.
Roll leaf around filling; fasten with toothpick.
Place in a baking dish.

For sauce, combine tomato sauce, tomatoes, sugar, vinegar, cinnamon and 1/2 cup of water and pour over cabbage rolls.

Bake covered in a preheated 350° oven 60 to 90 minutes.
Remove rolls and discard toothpicks.
Place pan with juices over medium heat or transfer the juices to a saucepan and place over heat; stir cornstarch and water mixture into the sauce; bring too a boil and cook until thickened then pour over cabbage rolls.

How hard is that?
For those who don’t eat meat, in the past I have substituted the ground meat with a can of chickpeas that I puree in my food processor then mix that with chopped cabbage for the stuffing.

Today I will be cleaning up the mess I have made over the last four days; I know there is a white stove under the orange one I am now looking at.
I will be starting the apple pies later on today and I was thinking since I have so many apples that I might make some apple Danishes and freeze them too for those times I have the munchies for something sweet.

As you could see I am busy but I do see a light at the end of the hallway, which probably leads to another dark hallway with a light at the end of it.
Life is just a bunch of hallways with lights at the end of them.

Have a nice day

Walker

I LOVE Galumpkis!
My family is not a fan of them, so I don't make them, but I may have to make a "small" batch and freeze some for myself.
Mmmmm ......

Blazngfyre: I love them to, one of my EXs was Russian and over 17 years I got to eat alot of traditional Balkan dishes, like beet salad.
Now I want some lol

My oven has not worked properly in ten years and is now used for storage. The top works, so I'm able to heat things (and I have the microwave.) Just when I start thinking I should bake I will remember this post .....

The candle thing was funny - but only because of the way you told it.

You know I love to cook and so does Hot Rod so we have the best food in our house. Everyone I know loves to come here for dinner and the real truth is I love cooking for others. Keep up the good work...cooking is an art and it's one that seems to be less and less present in todays society!

Love the candle story! Bwa ha ha...I actually pictured it.

And, lastly I love a woman with confidence. I wish I had more of it sometimes.

Anonymous Boxer: My oven nevr staps working as doesn't the top or my microwave.
I even got a brand new toaster oven that is just for pizza.

Baking is something I have to get better at.

BikerCandy : I can see you and HotRod cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

You have to give credit to people who dress as they like knowing that people will look at the oddly.
I think it only makes them unique BUT funny as well LOl

Tell me you're joking about firing up that third freezer Walker, NOBODY needs that much food stored up, even if the "rainy day" turns into a flood.

Walker said...

Peter: Actually I wasn't kidding.
Being that I don't have a car all the time I prefer to do alot of grocery shopping.
In one freezer I keep meats in the other one in the basement i keep vegitables and breads and then there is the small on in the kitchen where i stock with food I have in the basement so I don;t need to run up and down all the time.

In the summer I can get a steak for 4 bucks in the winter it goes up to 8 bucks so I bought 20 steaks for the freezer andthere are at least 4 lehs of lamb in there i picked up for 15 each compared to about 25 over the winter.
Its all about what you can get when the getting is good.
As the stock depletes I shut down the empty freezer and go with the one until that is empty which usually is in the summer when I start restocking everything.

In todays economy its the best way I can save money and eat better.

Mmm I love a man who cooks. My hub cooks and he's better than I am really! I think my Mom used to make cabbage rolls and called them pigs in a blanket. Yum!

Walker said...

patti_cake: I don;t know if they are called pigs in a blanket buit I know I made a pig out of myself after they were done and then wrapped myself in a blanket.
Maybe I was the pig in the blanket LOL

I'm finally here Walker...YEAH. I was going to ask what all the cooking and freezing was about but you already answered that to Peter. Good thinking. I like a man who has an economical mind.

My husband does 80% of the cooking in our house and he really enjoys it. Says it helps him relax. Cooking stresses me out so its a good arrangement. I do all the housework, he cooks.

I'm glad my daughters are growing up in a non traditional house because it shows them another way. My MIL hates that I hardly ever cook. She is of the old school and thinks a woman's place is in the kitchen. Not in THIS house baby.

Walker said...

Gypsy: My mother is of the old school on many things but as she found out early that working 10 house and then doing housework was murder and having help around the house made it alot easier to rest.

I think the cooking should be done by the person who really wants to do it and not what it traditional.

That my friend is what you call a ghetto booty. You get those from collard greens. Ain't you ever seen "Beauty Shop?"

Walker said...

Teresa: No I haven't but that's alot of collard greens to get that much booty

Yes I was surprised but only cause alot of the :"men" I know say thats womans work. Heck my brother used to be a chief and my own hubby cooks better than me so I dont have a thing against guys cooking but it does surprise me in today age. I taught both of my boys to cook so they could survive out there in the cruel world without their momma lol.
As for the woman maybe thats the first time she ever wore heels that high and she was adjusting to them.
You have another blog?????

Walker said...

JYankee : I love to cook and try new recipes. I have about 20 cookbooks of various cultures and their cuisine and look for new i deas all the time.
You can bring the rest of the bean family and clean out my freezer if you like, it will only give me room to make more :)

Gab: I think in todays age it would be more prevelent with more women in the workforce and so many people who live alone.

I do enjoy going out to eat once in awhile but by the end of the meal you end up with a 40 dollar bill and if you were to do that everyday there wouldn;t be much left for rent unless you are going to be eating at fast food joints and that is only going to speed up your demise via clogged arteries.

Yes I do have another blog I write poetry on and delve into my darker thoughts.
It's on my Blogrool as "Last Soul"
