I Think It Is ©

There is something special about today but I can’t put my finger on it.
I know I was supposed to write a post about something.

You know the memory isn’t what it used to be, I am getting older and the memory is slowly going.
It’s the second thing to go you know, the first is the hearing to be followed by the eyes but that would be a blessing for me.
It’s hard looking at myself in the mirror in the morning, I don’t want to see me at 65, let’s go cataracts.
Besides I can’t get into as much trouble being blind feeling my way around ”wink”.
I’ll just tell everyone I have seeing-eye hands.
Hearing loss could be a good thing if you’re married.

Getting older messes up with sneaking up on people also with the joints creaking all the time.
Imagine my shock when I first found out about the creaking joints.
I spent $400 on shoes before I finally realized it wasn’t the shoes that were squeaky but my knees.
That’s nothing compared to the $1000 to replace the squeaky bed but that wasn't the knees.

Yup, age is creeping in but at least I still have my bladder working fine.
I don’t think I would want to walk around in diapers again unless someone was playing mommy and it was lunch time or sleeping on rubber sheets without any oil being involved.

OH I REMEMBER NOW!!!

I knew there was something special about today, it’s Monica’s birthday and I know why I couldn’t put my finger on it, it’s because she would smack me if I touched her there.
I was going to roast her butt in a birthday post and then I realized she was getting older so I didn’t want all of you saying I was being wilfully cruel to the elderly.

But for someone her age she is in good shape and does exercise.
I know she goes for power walks all the time and lifts weights especially if I send her baklava.
She power walks to the post office and curls pieces of baklava from the box to her mouth until the box is empty.
You should see the arms on her Woooo Hoooo.

So I have decided to spare her from a roast post and instead I will just ask you all to scoot on over and wish her a Happy Birthday but you have so shout because, you know the hearing goes first.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONICA!!!!

Have a nice day

Walker

I'm pleased you decided not to roast Monica.

My dear Mr. Walker,

Thank you for the post. I must admit I'm surprised that you didn't roast me because you think of me as the "elderly" especially since you roasted me while I was in the stroke-ward. :)

Just remember, dear Mr. Walker, I am STILL younger than you...and that's what matters. :)

Have a great day.

I got some good laughs, as always, I know my hubby enjoys his hearing loss. :) Just a minute, aren't you and I the same age?? My hearing is just fine, thank you, actually everything works just fine, well, a few little pains here and there. You (we) are definitely too young for diapers, maybe when you're 80. A long way off.

Mr. Walker,

I'm learning through my comments that there's a little bird with a big mouth over here...just wait till I tell Frick and Emme.
