Because they love and warn me whenever they hear a noise. They love and protect and who else goes that crazy the minute they see you after you have been gone even a short time. They are special.
Oh Yes, good luck with the squirrels. Caught skunk number 5 this morning. Caught a squirrel yesterday morning and boy did it take off like lightning the minute the trap door was opened. Hoping no more skunks living under my wood shop building. Once had a mother squirrel with 5 babies born in my house front eaves. Walt told me was just birds, so I got a metal piece used for holding drop ceiling tiles, and started poking down into the attic eaves That terrible squawking was no bird. Eventually she was seen carrying each of her babies, one by one, across the road into the woods. We sealed up the eaves better, but bees still found a way in. Hope no babies in your eaves. Good luck Walker.

Exactly! We can learn a lot from our pets.
